As
a veteran Social Studies teacher, I have taught the full range of
Social Studies classes—American and World History, geography, civics,
economics, and government. Serving as chairman of my department for
many years, I developed curriculum for our district, worked with local
universities in teaching techniques and teacher preparation, and wrote
software programs for our state mandated Social Studies Test. I am
currently a Social Studies education consultant for a county school
system.
My
lifelong interest in current issues and news has led me to create an
activity that provides the opportunity to learn about the wide range of
news stories in an enjoyable and understandable way. I also attempt
to provide some factual information in each question. I hope that
each issue of Know Your Current Events will create an enthusiasm and interest in learning more about the news and issues we encounter every day.
